Beneath the Wisteria supporter Chris Halpin spotted the
alarming New York Times story - Relief in Every Window, but Global Worry Too.
Australia is yet to match
this, but we are well on our way.
Check our any public
or commercial building anywhere in Australia and it is bristling with air
conditioners.
Resort buildings,
for argument’s sake, have either a central air conditioning system or
independent units in every room.
Beyond that any area
used by the public and accessible 24-hours a day is always lit and if the car
park is underground, as many are, then the lights are on 24-hours. Occasionally
they have movement sensors that turn the lights on and off as required, but not
often.
