'Staring down the barrel of our own extinction' - Dr Willis

ABC24 viewers heard this morning that “We’re staring down the barrel of our own extinction”

And according to the Director of the Royal Institute ofAustralia (RiAus), Dr Paul Willis, that extinction if not about earth being slammed into by a rogue meteorite, rather it is our behaviour.
Dr Paul Willis.
We have gouged earth’s finite resources, exploited our human capabilities to the detriment of all other species around us and now, according to Dr Willis, we are poised to extinguish ourselves.

As the director of institute, Dr Willis will be instrumental in determining the direction of the national science hub as it continues its mission of bringing science to people and people to science. “I’ve always had a passion for science communication.”

”I look forward to working with RiAus to share the latest in science with new audiences,” he said when appointed as director.
