Call for climate solutions that the world doesn't possess

A

dvocacy for the restoration of a safe climate calls for solutions that the world does not currently possess.

The central question remains ‘is safe climate restoration possible and, if not, what level of action is now morally defensible and yet practically achievable?’

These matters will examined by a five-strong panel at a Breakthrough event next month in Melbourne entitled, ”Im-Possible Climate: Safe climate restoration under the microscope”.

Panellists at the November 4 forum will be, Friends of the Earth Climate Campaigner, Ben Courtice; Climate Activist, researcher and writer, Andrea Bunting; Environment Victoria CEO, Mark Wakeham; climate policy analyst, David Spratt; and Save the Planet campaign manager, Adrian Whitehead.

Also, the forum will examine and critique the recently published discussion paper “Striking Targets” with the author Philip Sutton.

The forum will be held at 6:00pm on Wednesday, November 4, at the LAB-14 Seminar Space, Ground Floor 700 Swanston Street, the University of Melbourne.

Interested people should register to join the forum.
