Hoesung Lee new leader of UN climate science body

he UN climate science body needs to harness private sector knowledge, its newly elected chair said on Wednesday.

Hoesung Lee called for a more “bottom-up” approach to compiling the periodic Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) assessment reports.

The South Korean energy economist, who started his career at US oil major Exxon in the 1970s, told journalists businesses had a role to play.
