A SECOND storm
has slammed into Sydney just hours after hail the size of cricket balls
fell in the city’s southern suburbs and a tornado was spotted near the airport.
Heavy rain has lashed the city’s eastern suburbs with part
of the roof of the Westfield Bondi Junction shopping centre caving in. The
collapse occurred above Event Cinemas, leaving the ground floor covered in
water about 1.15pm, reported the Wentworth Courier.
In the devastated suburb of Kurnell, in the city’s south
where the first storm hit with a bang midmorning, there are reports the NSW
Riot Squad has been called as distressed residents demand access to their
homes.
