Fewer than 10 people attended Thursday (September 27) night’s launch of Ian Christoe’s campaign for election to the City of Greater Shepparton City council.

Ian, who is the officially the Greens candidate for City of Greater Shepparton Council elections on Saturday, October 27, launched his campaign at Noble Monks restaurant in Maude Street.

He can be contacted via email at ian.christoe@vic.greeens.org.au or by phone at 0418 804 876.

Ian stood for council in 2008 and missed election by the narrowest of margins – one vote. A re-count did not help.

An Undera farmer is eager to be a part of a council the works to create a city that is less damaging to our environment and yet ensures that those who live here can live a life that is contented, rewarding and fulfilling.

Ian felt it important that he make his views clear from the outset in the hope of avoiding any discordant disputes later on and so from the outset of his campaign has gladly declared his association with the Greens Party.

His campaign is being maintained on a miniscule budget and those eager to support him can do so through a Greens Party donation page - https://vic.greens.org.au/civicrm/contribute/transact?reset=1&id=217.

Those donate cash to the campaign, but eager to help in some physical sense should contact Ian direct.

Among those at the later-September launch was the artistic director of the annual SheppARTonFestival, John Head.

He was generous in his praise of the existing council pointing to regular secretarial-like help it provides and the wonderful work it has done in raising the public image of arts in Shepparton, including the creation of purpose built individual entrance for the Shepparton Arts Museum (SAM).

Response to climate change demands many-facetted approach beginning with private undertakings, then your respective parts of the community, your Local Government and then State and Federal Governments.
