Joking (unknowingly) about the seriousness of intergenerational responsibilities

Graucho Marx.
Graucho Marx and Beneath the Wisteria seem like unlikely bedfellows.

And that was probably true until Tatura’s Alfred Heuperman put them in them together.

Reading a recent post in which people were urged to consider their intergenerational responsibilities, Alfred recalled a Graucho Marx quote in which the late comedian said: “I don’t care much about future generations; they never did anything for me”.

Alfred said he hoped the famous comedian was joking when he made that comment, but of course, Alfred said, that was before we knew about the human impact on climate change.
