The Age brings it clout to the conversation

The media has justifiably been criticized for the attention and space it has devoted to climate science.

Candidates for Saturday’s Federal Election have almost escaped questioning about what Australia will do in response to the dire difficulties the world’s climatologists have detailed.

However, Wednesday’s Melbourne Age carried and editorial headed: “As the world warms, Abbott goes backward”, the alerted the balance ever so slightly.

The editorial questioned the validity and usefulness of the Coalition’s “Direct Action” policy saying: “Mr Abbott has shed any pretence that he sees emissions cuts as a priority”.

Thanks to Beneath the Wisteria supporter, Greg Barnes, for pointing out The Age editorial.
