World not 'ready' for climate change

The world has done effectively nought to mitigate the causes of climate change and although those relatively simple steps would have been easily accommodated within the global budget, we now face adaptation, a significantly different and more expensive process.

Writing in a story headed: “World ill-prepared for climate change” Arup says that rich and poor countries alike are unprepared for what is ahead.

The damaging changes ahead, he says in referring to detail in leaked reports from final draft by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, will be significant and the benefits few.
