Who is going to be 'responsible' for climate change?

Those who deny the implications and complications of our damaged climate are skating it seems, on rather thin ice.

The Centre for Environmental Law has reported that corporate executives of major fossil fuel companies could face personal liability for funding climate those who deny climate change and opposing policies for fight what is humanity’s greatest ever threat.

In a story headed: “Executives facing climate denial-related claims could be personally liable – NGOs” it reports that executives of large insurance corporations as well as fossil fuel and other carbon major companies have been  asked who will pay the bill if lawsuits are brought against their directors or officers.

The failure to act on the part of a corporation is not dissimilar to a government failing to act on part of those who elected it.

And so while the NGOs are targeting corporation executives, maybe we should be more inclusive and turn our attention to those responsible for our national governance.
