Limits to Growth was correct: University of Melbourne research

A four-decade-old evidence-based prediction is unfolding exactly as forecast.

A team assembled by The Club of Rome and lead by husband and wife team of Donella and Dennis Meadows wrote and published the book, “The Limits to Growth” in 1972.

The findings were less than encouraging and so drew a barrage of criticism from the establishment, all those who saw no end to growth and so couldn’t countenance anyone, or anything, the suggested something to the contrary.

However, research from the University of Melbourne has found the book’s forecasts are accurate, 40 years on.

It says, “If we continue to track in line with the book’s scenario, expect the early stages of global collapse to start appearing soon”.

A story headed: “Limits to Growth was right. New research shows we're nearing collapse”, published in The Guardian points to the book’s accuracy.
