Progress depends upon de-legitimizing fossil fuel bodies

Little progress will be made on de-carbonizing society until the constituent parts of the fossil fuel industry are de-legitimized.

An example of our inability to see beyond the obvious is the giving of a “Climate Leadership Award” to the company behind the construction of pipeline integral to the worsening of the world’s carbon dioxide emissions.

The Huffington Post reports about this dilemma in a story headed: “Keystone XL Oil Pipeline Owner Wins Climate Leadership Award”.

It reports: “The company that wants to build the Keystone XL pipeline was recognized this week for leadership on climate change -– to the shock of environmental activists.”
