Doomsday stories are simply depressing

Doomsday stories, among other things, are simply depressing.

And it is in that depressive mood that importance of the story and it suggested consequences, never register with many people, or are never even read in the first place.

A story in today’s Melbourne Age headed: “Doomsday ticks closer to midnight: 'the probability of global catastrophe is very high'” is another of those stories.

However, it needs to be read and, critically needs its warnings to be incorporated within the thinking of most as they make their usual daily decisions and, importantly vote for those who govern us.

The 1947 established Doomsday Clock is now at three minutes to midnight after being moved two minutes forward with those on charge of the clock citing nuclear threats and climate change as the motivators of their decision.
