The stepping down of
the head of the UN's climate science panel Rajendra Pachauri in the wake of
sexual harassment claims is irrelevant.
What we have done to the climate and what the head UN
climate body, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), may or may
not have done, are absolutely unconnected.
Climate deniers will be celebrating this moment and exercising
it in every way they can to ensure further distancing the climate movement from
achieving it aims of mitigating greenhouse gas emissions.
Mr Pachauri, chairman of the IPCC since 2002, has denied any
wrongdoing, claiming his email account and mobile phone were hacked.
