Toyne had many interests, but most of all cared about the state of the world

ndigenous advocate and co-founder of the national Landcare program, Phillip Toyne, has died aged 67.

Mr Toyne established the environmental organisation with Rick Farley in 1989 when he was head of the Australian Conservation Foundation.

Prior to that Mr Toyne worked as a school teacher and lawyer in remote Aboriginal communities.

There were tributes for Mr Toyne on social media from political and conservation leaders.
