arbon capture and
storage (CCS) is an unproven technology and mostly a distant dream.
However, many still see it as an idea, a technology, worth
pursuing, even though it has not yet passed through the early testing stages.
Some, though, consider it a bad thing as the general
population would see it as an end to the carbon dioxide emissions difficulty
and so excitedly continue their consumptive and earth abusive lifestyles.
That has not discouraged those enthused by the idea,
including the Australian Government that in 2009 initially funded the Global CCS Institute whose mission is “to accelerate the development, demonstration
and deployment of CCS globally.”
The institute’s vision
says “CCS is a vital technology with which to tackle climate change and
provide energy security.”
