| Mark Twain - "Lies, damned lies, and statistics". |
“FactCheck” on The Conversation falls in favour, with reservations, of claims by
the Australian Government that is has met all its carbon dioxide emissions
targets.
Claims and counter-claims of carbon dioxide emissions are
such a thicket of figures that one if forced to think of the comment attributed
to British Prime Minister, Benjamin Disraeli and popularized by Mark Twain, who
reputedly said there are "Lies, damned lies and statistics”.
Read the story and make you own decision about whether the
government is giving us “facts, lies, damned lies, or statistics?" - "FactCheck: has Australia met its climate goals, while other nations make ‘airy-fairy promises’?"
