Work addiction leads to a dysfunctional society and worsening global warming

O

ur addiction to work manifests many things, among them inequality that for many is poverty, our status driven need to consume and, most importantly, the root worsening of global warming arising from our striking misuse and abuse of energy.

In simple terms we should work fewer hours each week and here the New Economics Foundation explores the idea of working just 21 hours a week – read about the report: “21 hours.”

Also, the London School of Economics staged a forum featuring Professor Juliet Schor, Professor Lord Skidelsky, Professor Tim Jackson with the chair, Anna Coote.
