alcolm Turnbull has
been warned by his party's right wing not to attempt changes to beef up the
Abbott government's Direct Action program in response to China's introduction
of an economy-wide emissions trading scheme by 2017.

Chinese President Xi Jinping was expected on Friday (US
time) to announce the initiative while visiting the US, according to Obama
administration officials in Washington.
West Australian Liberal Dennis Jensen welcomed the
assurances of Environment Minister Greg Hunt, who said Australia would not be
altering its climate change abatement measures in response to the Chinese
development.
