Upton Sinclair, an American author who wrote nearly 100 books and other works across a number of genres, was well-known and popular in the first half of the twentieth century, and who won the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction in 1943 once said:

“It is difficult to get a man to understand something when his job depends on not understanding it”.
