Creating a climate for change at the Northcote Town Hall

A climate for change will be created at the Northcote Town Hall early next month.

“Creating the Climate for Change” will be the Melbourne Playback Theatre Company and a trio of speakers, Professor Rob Adams, Lucy Best and Dr Stephen Bygrave.

The Thursday, August 11, event is being staged by Darebin Climate Action Now and connects with National Science Week that this year is from August 13-21.

Assistant convenor of Darebin CAN, Carol Ride said: “Creating a Climate for Change presents a panel of expert speakers and Q&A.”

“That will be followed by an interactive performance with Playback Theatre's ensemble of professional actors, musicians and MCs who will create a unique, improvised performance based on the audience's real life experiences, and perspectives,” she said.

Professor Adams has played a key role in designing and building resilience and sustainability into the City of Melbourne working at its Director of City Design and Projects.

Lucy Best, the Community Engagement manager for Positive Charge in Moreland is committed and enthusiastic about energy efficiency. The third speaker will be the CEO of Beyond Zero Emissions, Dr Stephen Bygrave.

Ms Ride said: “Join us for a great evening intersecting science with performance and robust conversation. “
