| IMF boss, Christine Lagarde - her views about global cooperation confused with globalisation. |
That difference however, appears to have escaped the
understanding of the headline writer from the Melbourne Age.
International Monetary Fund boss Christine Lagarde talked to
the Centre for Global Development about global cooperation pointing to the important
role it has to play in countering the rise of populism and inward-looking
forces.
Global cooperation, such as illustrated in Paris late last
year, is the key to avoiding catastrophic climate change, while contrastingly globalisation
is about individualism; an individualism that through its penchant for profit
that disregards people, climate disruption worsens, drawing ever closer.
