A damaging cold front, coupled with a freezing air mass
behind it, is expected to smash Victoria, New South Wales, Tasmania and South
Australia by Tuesday evening.
Rainfall is forecast overnight on Monday and into Tuesday
morning, before the possibility of hail and thunder developing later in the
day, according to the weather bureau. Temperatures are set to plummet across
Melbourne, with severe wind chill making it feel even colder.
