The next scheduled gathering Beneath the Wisteria in Shepparton’s Maude St Mall falls on the
same date and so that has been cancelled to allow people the chance to attend
the Tatura festival.
The festival, “Communities shaping the future: Engaging your
community through music and art”, is planned for Saturday, August 27, and
starts at 9:30am following registration and morning tea from 8:45am.
The day of “Conversation and Film” is being held at the
Hogan St Gallery Café and is being organized by Tatura Transition Towns.
Melbourne’s “Simon Kerr Perspective” will bring its near
two-hour show, “Music for a Warming World” to the festival and that will be
accompanied be a series of images helping people understand how they can adapt
to the new world.
Nathalia humanist and internationally recognized artist and
peace activist, Bill Kelly, will talk about how art can influence the life of a
community, making it both stronger and more resilient.
Rushworth landscape designer, Louise Costa, who played a key
role in many roadside trees near her town and was instrumental in the design of
the “Weaving Garden” at Shepparton’s Australian Botanic Gardens, will talk
about art, design and community.
Tickets for the festival, that include morning and afternoon
teas, lunch, nibbles and bottomless cuppas, are just $35 each and can be
secured through Ticketbooth.
