Thinking about posterity

Geraldine Doogue.
Posterity, as Geraldine Doogue points out, is something we claim we understand and think about, but, she asks do we really think of it as an idea and ponder about what we hand on.

She says the segment was inspired by Harvard historian Niall Ferguson, who says we need to think more about posterity and preserving the institutions that shape our society, our panellists discuss whether we are doing enough for the generations that will follow.

Climate change and our respect for it and how we respond to it is also about posterity.

Listen to this great discussion led by Geraldine Doogue on Radio National –“Thinking about posterity.”
