Record summer rains have left roads flooded, animals seeking shelter and regional Western Australia bracing for more wild weather.
As Perth continues to clean up from its coldest winter day on record, the cold front has brought heavy rain to communities from the South West to Esperance.
In the state's south-east, heavy rain has closed the South Coast Highway between Esperance and Ravensthorpe, while a severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for Kalgoorlie and surrounding areas of the Goldfields.
Bureau of Meteorology Esperance station manager Cliff Spencer said the wild weather had broken all records for February rainfall, with 91mm falling since the start of February.
