Origin Energy's chief geologist has described the interim report by the Northern Territory's independent inquiry into fracking as balanced.
Origin chief geologist David Close said the interim report was "balanced" and "independent". |
The report, which was released last week, was also given similar approval by North Star Pastoral, a cattle company which is fervently against fracking.
The interim report provided a preliminary analysis of the risks and benefits of fracking in the NT and an outline of the work undertaken by the inquiry since it was established in 2016.
Origin Energy has a number of gas exploration permits in the Beetaloo Basin, south-east of Daly Waters, activity on which is currently on hold while the NT's moratorium on hydraulic fracturing is in place.
