Discussing fossil fuel subsidies in “Unprecedented Crime: Climate Change Denial and Game Changers for Survival” Dr Peter Carter and Elizabeth Woodworth said:
“In 2015, an International Monetary Fund (IMF) working paper estimated that the world’s governments would spend a staggering $5.3 trillion on energy subsidies that year, with most of it supporting fossil fuels. This worked out to $10 million a minute, more than the total amount world governments would spend on health.”
