"Seeing climate change bandied around as a political football for so many years is frustrating," says the founder of the dairy free ice-cream business. "We are still in this place where not much is being done. The penny dropped that we can, in our own way, do what we can.”
Over The Moo is stocked in 1400 stores in Australia and employs four people, turning over about $1.5 million last financial year.
After seeing larger organisations such as the Melbourne Cricket Ground and Sydney Opera House go carbon neutral over the past year, Mr Houseman says he is keen to show it doesn’t have to stop with big businesses.
