Country Road managing director Elle Roseby with some of the 'green' features of the brand's new store.
The fashion retailer is embarking on a program to overhaul its stores to make them the greenest in the country, with its flagship, at Melbourne's Chadstone, launching next week.
The store, the first standalone fashion shop in Australia to achieve a five-star green rating from the Green Building Council of Australia, includes tables made from discarded yoghurt containers, fitting room hooks made from recycled ocean plastic and carpets constructed from old fishing nets.
Managing director Elle Roseby said the brand's move into "highly visible" green store design follows its commitment to "design every product with a sustainable attribute by 2020".
