Filling in time with "The Green Deck"

Military people are either, it seems, fully engaged, or simply filling in time.

"The Green Deck" - Army playing cards.

And to fill in time they often do things like play cards.

And the Australian Army, illustrating its concern for our environment have available “The Green Deck” - a pack of playing cards that encourage military men and women to take an interest in and care for the environment.

A pack of cards is somewhat superficial for if the military, in this case, the Army, really cared about the environment, it would change its behaviour in relation to its use of fossil fuels.

The U.S. military is the single largest user in the world of fossil fuels and although tiny by comparison, the Australian military would also be a significant user of fossil fuels and thereby be a major contributor to Australia’s carbon dioxide emissions.
