Species are moving due to climate change and the distinction between 'native' and 'invasive' is blurring

The distinction between native and invasive (or alien) species has been pretty clear, until now.
Climate change has blurred the lines, with at least 25% of all species of native animals and plants changing their ranges. They're heading north or south, or to higher altitudes, or deep in the ocean, to escape warming.
The movement of species is also causing scientists to re-think long held notions of conservation.

Listen to Sunday Extra on Radio National with Julian Morrow - “Species are moving due to climate change and the distinction between 'native' and 'invasive' is blurring.”
