Blueprint for a climate emergency movement: our strategic vision

Civilization is on the verge of collapse due to climate change, income inequality and ecological overshoot. Our political system is in the hands of a tiny elite class profiting off this triple crisis, and too oblivious to slam the brakes on the system before it all comes crashing down.

Ordinary people must form a nonviolent movement to spark the just emergency transition we need to save our children and avert total collapse. Armed with the truth, people won’t stay scared and passive. They will rise up to reclaim honor and dignity, going all in to fight for all life.

This is our social movement strategy in a nutshell. To find out how it all works, read our Blueprint for a Climate Emergency Movement: a plan for how we can escalate and win the fight for the emergency transition we need.

Going for WWII-scale climate mobilization

The Climate Mobilization and allies are developing a strategy to ensure that the U.S. federal government commences a WWII-scale climate mobilization by July 4, 2017 — less than one year from today.

To accomplish this necessary aim, we need to start scaling up our organizing and central operations now.

Participants in the Climate Year program will commit to volunteering for The Climate Mobilization 30+ hours per week for one year. We are looking for brilliant, talented, dedicated people who want to fight for civilization and the natural world.

Climate Year participants will take on significant leadership responsibilities, enjoy considerable autonomy, and continually push the limits of what they imagined possible.

Climate Year can be completed anywhere-- you will either be organizing in your community or largely working online and over the phone.
