And Alan makes it seven to bid for Murray Beneath the Wisteria

Yarrawonga's Alan Williams has been named as the Labor candidate for Federal Seat of Murray in the July 2 national election.
 
He will make his first public appearance as the Labor representative when, along with six other candidates, he joins those who gather Beneath the Wisteria tomorrow, May 28, in Shepparton’s Maude St Mall.
 
Mr Williams and his compatriot candidates will speak for five minutes explaining his position, values and policies, particularly in how they relate to matters about individual and community response to climate change.
 
Tomorrow’s Beneath the Wisteria, which is free and open to anyone eager hear from those who feel they could best represent people of Murray in Canberra.
 
Other candidates who said they will attend include Damian Drum (National Party), Duncan McGuachie (Liberals), Ian Christoe (Greens) and independents, Andrew Bock, Nigel Hicks and Fern Summer.


Five minutes will be allowed after each speaker providing those listening with an opportunity to ask clarifying questions.
 
Goulburn Valley Environment Group and Slap Tomorrow president, and Beneath the Wisteria supporter, John Pettigrew, will oversee the discussions as the master of ceremonies.
 
Beneath the Wisteria is at the northern end of the Maude St Mall (near Fryers St), is free and starts at 11:00am. Some public seating is available (very little) and those attending are advised to bring a folding chair.
