he following is a
press release about Australia’s 2030 emissions target issued under the name of the
Prime Minister, Tony Abbott; the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Julie Bishop;
and the Environment Minister, Greg Hunt.
The statement is full of vagaries, unsubstantiated claims
and promises for which no idea is given about how they will be fulfilled.
Australians, and the rest of the world, need to be careful,
very careful before accepting without evidence what is promised and the first
question that should be asked is “how?”
