Those who deny
climate change never allow facts to stand in the way of what they say or
believe.
Nationals MP George Christensen recently asked in the House of
Representatives: “How could it be getting hotter … if it was really hotter 118
years ago?

Then effectively answering his own question said: “It’s
relatively simple: the early years are simply wiped from the official record.”
Writing in FactCheck on The
Conversation a Professor with the School of Earth, Atmosphere and
Environment at Monash University, Prof Neville Nicholls, and a research fellow
at Australian National University, Sophie Lewis have illustrated the fallacy of
that argument.
They have illustrated that Australia’s early temperature
records were seriously compromised and not, as claimed “wiped from the official
record”.
