Tatura and Tathra have much in common, and it's not just their names

T

atura and Tathra both have many things in common.

Tathra is in the Bega Shire,
which is enthused about
the solar idea.
Beyond both having names that begin with the letter “T”, both are eager to secure their electrical power for eternity.

The New South Wales south coast town of Tathra is more advanced than Tatura having already made serious inroads into its energy needs with the recent official opening of a its solar farm

Much is presently happening in Tatura with a project to both create and secure the  town’s energy future well advanced and is already being viewed by many as a potential template for Australian communities.

In Tathra Australia’s first completed community-owned solar farm is now a reality helping to power the Tathra treatment plant.

The 30kW solar farm is an initiative of community climate action group Clean Energy for Eternity, Inc and consists of 120 panels of 250W capacity arranged to form the letters of IMAGINE. It is clearly visible from the air on the approach path to Merimbula airport.
