Morrison government announces funding for community environment projects

The Morrison government will unveil $22 million in funding for community environmental projects across the country on Monday, stepping up its green pitch to voters ahead of the election.

The program, which will provide up to $150,000 to each federal electorate in 2019-20, follows the government's funding announcements on its revamped "direct action" emissions reduction initiative and the Snowy 2.0 hydro project.

Labor’s $200m pledge to 'boots on the ground' groups to fix rivers

Federal Labor is stepping up its environmental pitch to voters, promising a new $200 million fund to restore the health of urban rivers and waterways.

The fund, which would run over five years, is targeted at 'boots on the ground' community and environment action groups already working on river health, but would also be open to local government authorities wanting to undertake larger scale remediation.
