Take a trip and hear about 'The End of Growth'

Richard Heinberg's
controversial book.
Any response to climate change must consider humanity’s binge on growth.

Just as human numbers have grown exponentially, so has our need for seemingly endless economic growth.

Any useful response to climate change just has to attend to this perverse hunger we have for growth.

A fellow who has thought about that a lot and in fact wrote about it in 2011 in his book, The End of Growth, will speak in Melbourne on Saturday, September 22, at the Melbourne's Wheeler Centre, in Little Lonsdale St, starting at 7pm.

Admission, I understand, will be $5 and bookings are not required.
It would be well worth finding your way to Melbourne to hear him speak.
