Price Waterhouse Coopers (PwC) have added their weight to
the need to slow down the world’s carbon dioxide emissions.
As one of the world’s four largest accounting firms, PwC has
released its low carbon economy index warning that if carbon dioxide emissions are to be contained, let alone reduced,
as they must, then the world community has much to do.
A report published by Planet Ark headed: “Unprecedented world carbon emissions cuts neededby 2050: PwC” alerts readers that the world now needs to be cutting emissions
by in excess of five per cent a year through to 2050.
Climate scientist
have warned that the chance of limiting the rise to less than two degrees grows
smaller each day, point to the fact that global carbon emissions jumped by
three percent in 2011.
