The Transition Towns
movement arose for several reasons, among them the scarcity of energy
supplies.
Tatura Transition Towns member, Marisa O’Halloran, has
alerted us to an ABC Television program tomorrow night (Thursday, August 1) in
which Dick Smith, the self-proclaimed largest individual fuel user in
Australia, will explore Australia’s energy options.
Promoting the show, the ABC said; “Some of our most serious
global worries revolved around energy – controlling it, paying for it and the
consequences of burning it.
“As one of the world’s biggest per capita users and
exporters of fossil fuels Australia is sure to be deeply by the radical changes
coming down the energy pipeline.
“Self-confessed fuel junkie Dick Smith explores Australia
options as we enter the age of energy disruption,” it said.
Tomorrow night’s show, which screens at 8:30pm, is entitled “Ten bucks a litre”.
