The Mitchell Environmental Group (BEAM) is
presenting an ‘Energy Futures’ forum in Seymour on Saturday, November 16, which
will look at the what, why and how of energy.
In transitioning from our dependence on limited fossil fuel reserves to harnessing clean renewable energy – BEAM argues we can lower our impact on the environment and the severity of climate change.

The reduction of our own energy use will play a major role in our ability to make
this transition.
“We all have a part to play in our Energy Future,” is says in promotional
material.
Guest speakers for the November 16 forum will be from all around Victoria and discuss future energy options including solar and wind power, how to reduce energy use, your household bills and the risks associated if we don’t move to a renewable energy future.
Speakers will include an Ararat councilor, Gwenda Allgood, who will talk about the community benefits of a wind farm development; David Robison, who will discuss L.I.V.E community solar at the South Melbourne market; and Trent Hawkins from Beyond Zero Emissions who will talk about reducing energy bills and its use in households.
The November forum will be held at Seymour’s at the Victorian Railways Institute Hall that is next to Seymour Station, on the bus terminal side of the railway line.
The forum will be facilitated by BEAM’s Phil Bourne with support from Leigh Ewbank of Yes2Renewables.
