England, according to one observer, looks like a “battlefield”
with soldiers applying battle-group skills to deal with an “unparalleled”
natural crisis.
The Telegraph reports in a story headed: “Flood-hit areas as a ‘battlefield’ as thousands of soldiers are deployed” that forecasters are
warning the weather could get worse.
Meanwhile in a story headed: “U.S. South, East Coast lashedagain by deadly snow and ice storm” Yahoo reports that another deadly winter
storm has crippled travel, knocked out power to nearly 400 000 homes and has
been attributed with at least 13 deaths.
