'Fringe group' always was and now is recognised as mainstream

The joy or hunting and fishing in the U.S.
depends on limiting climate change.
“Fringe group” was the description applied to the Shepparton-based Slap Tomorrow first moved early in 2013 to organize a forum about climate change.

The group had sought support from the City of Greater Shepparton and although none was forthcoming, it did produce a deluge of publicity that helped make the forum possible.

Several local businesses were unhappy with the council’s behaviour and so stepped to more than fill what was a yawning financial gap.

It was during the publicity arising from that council decision, that a local fellow runs a hunting and fishing store, and has had political aspirations, praised the council’s decision describing Slap Tomorrow as a “fringe group”.

Contrasting that view is the decision  taken by hundreds of American hunting and fishing groups who have praised that country’s president, Barack Obama, for his position on tackling climate change through limiting Co2 emissions from the nation’s power plants.

A story in Climate Progress says: “Hundreds of sportsmen’s groups want President Obama to act on climate change, and they think the administration’s recent power plant rule is a pretty good way to do it.”

The view of the U.S. groups is explained in a story headed: “Hundreds Of Hunting And Fishing Groups Voice Their Support For Action On Climate Change
