Both are coming together in a move in the Northern Rivers region in New South Wales.

The ABC has reported on a decided push for renewable and clean energy at Byron Bay in a story headed: “Byron Bay residents push for Australia's first community-owned clean energy generator”.

“Known for its alternative lifestyles, the Northern Rivers region of New South Wales is hoping to establish a not-for-profit energy company - Northern Rivers Energy - to rival the big retailers,” the ABC reports.
