Gltzty city 'sees and smells' the reality of climate change

High heels are fashionable in South
Beach, Miami, but it seems that
what's really  needed to avoid "the shit"
left floating about because of climate
 change are boors like these.
America's glitziest city is frequently in the news for its celebrity status and addiction to the contemporary buzz.

South Beach Miami is pumping and the national media talks lovingly of the city’s wonders, but says little about the fact that attractions may well be soon gone.

The Sydney Morning Herald reported just a few days ago that “Warming world's rising seas wash away some of South Florida's glitz”.

It said: “What was not so widely reported was that South Beach stank of shit. There is no nice way to put it. The place smelled of human waste. There had been a brief, heavy downpour but the water could not escape, so the sewers backed up and filled the roads. The traffic slowed to walking pace or seized entirely, and the models tottering between the restaurants and hotels and clubs had to pick wide arcs on the pavements to avoid the nasty pools swelling from the gutters.”
