We hear the rhetoric, but not the message we should

ony Abbott incessantly talks about keeping Australians safe but ignores the most obvious of risks – global warming.

Australia’s Prime Minister has said nothing about how climate change would impact on the nation’s safety and security and it is thought the topic will largely be ignored in a forthcoming Defence White Paper.

Writing on The Conversation, a PhD candidate at University of New South Wales, Michael D. Thomas has asked the question, “Will the government’s forthcoming Defence White Paper discuss the national security implications of climate change?”
