Extreme becoming the new normal

xtreme weather events have become so common, and so extensively reported on, that they are being normalized.

That normalization of the extreme arising from global warming is inherently dangerous as is quietly and subtly strips us of the intellectual and physical need and desire to act to mitigate and combat climate change.
