The world's cities bond in Paris in response to climate change

during the Paris talks.
While the focus of the UN climate change negotiations in Paris has largely been on national governments, the world’s cities have been showing unity and building momentum for a global response to climate change.

A thousand cities have signed on to go 100% renewable power - and mayors are loudly saying that they can implement the outcomes of an agreement in Paris. This is critically important given it is likely that the first review of any Paris agreement wouldn't be for five years. During these five years cities can make deep cuts in emissions that will enable nations to meet their national targets.
