| Cycling: Helping the environment and building better brains. |
Obviously, they consume resources in their construction,
which can be energy intensive, but once “on the road” they need pretty much
only human power to access the wonderful mobility they allow.
And so although bicycles are not emissions free, they would,
if used in place of the energy consuming and carbon spewing motor car on a
relatively large scale, make a huge contribution to mitigating climate change.
But there is more, cycling is not only good for the
environment and climate change mitigation, it is good for us in that it helps
keep us physically fit, wards off diseases and, as explained here, help build
better brains.
